how to disble trusted connection Excel 97?

  • hi,

I have an Excel 97 workbook which has an external data source that connect to SQL server database thru ODBC. Everytime I refresh it ask for NT login password. The login to SQL Server has its own user name and password. As the result the connection is always failed. Does anyone know to diable the trusted connection in Excel 97?

  • Not aware of a way, then again I dont do much data access with Excel. Are you using a DSN, UDL, or embedded connection string?

  • I will have to dig at work but what Andy states sounds right about a DSN or UDL, those things always give us trouble when moving the Excel file to different machines.
