Install SSRS question

  • Hi ,

    We are planning for Data warehouse for internal reports.

    We are in process to setup a VM – windows 2008 R2 version

    Now for SQL server reporting edition, we are looking for cheap one that will support reporting services, any idea. Thanks for your help

    How about installing SSRS dev edition?

  • You should install the correct edition of the software, especially in an enterprise environment.

    Ignoring software T&Cs (and even sources!) might be considered okay at home (cough, cough) but absolutely not for commercial purposes.

    I would carefully study the license conditions for the dev version before you decide to use it in a commercial environment.

    If Microsoft audit you (or a whistleblower tells them what you're up to) you will be up the proverbial without a paddle.

    (For what you describe, you need Standard/Enterprise Edition).

    Note to developers:
    CAST(SUBSTRING(CAST(FLOOR(NULLIF(ISNULL(COALESCE(1,NULL),NULL),NULL)) AS CHAR(1)),1,1) AS INT) == 1
    So why complicate your code AND MAKE MY JOB HARDER??!:crazy:
