I have divided the tempdb into,
tempdb.mdf
tempdb1.mdf
tempdb2.mdf
tempdb3.mdf
templog.ldf
All the files are in same drive
Now, I have an curious doubt. How to merge all the files into its default one data and one log file?

ALTER DATABASE [tempdb]
REMOVE FILE <logical_name_1>
;
Repeat until all excess files removed, then restart SQL Server.
