sql memory usage

  • I am usung sql 2005 studio express, my data base is using 1.200,000k that is fine i am running alot of data onto it, but i dont need to hold all the data

I dont think its writing to disk very fast, can i make sql run faster by holding less in memory?

    regards

    Jon

  • I'm having trouble following your question.

Are you asking if you can make the database faster by making more of it stay on the disk instead of in memory? That seems to be the question. If that is what you're asking, the answer is "no". Memory is faster than the disk.
