Subreports within table/matrix cells are ignored.

    I concur with Alex...

    Put a rectangle inside the cell of your parent table where you want your sub-report to be. Then put your sub-report in the rectangle object.

    It worked for me anyway (SSRS 2005)

  • Another workaround in 2005 is to export it to XML from your report and to reimport the XML file into Excel. The sub report ends up being on the side of the main data, so the main data will duplicate if there are 2 sub report records associated with the parent record, but it's better than nothing. Your report user may actually prefer that the sub report is in it own columns rather than sharing the same cells with the main data.
