Did you try running DBCC CHECKDB for the database? This is to make sure there is no corruption in database.

I researched on it and found that there is no parameter to specify owner using stored procedure sp_attach_db.

That's wierd.
Did you choose owner properly while attaching database?
sp_changedbowner is the next option for you.

You really need to put the profiler trace. SQL server will not do this by its own 🙂

SQL Server will not use more than 2.8 GB of physical RAM. Its limitation of process running on 32 Bit operating system.

I saw this behaviour earlier, I changed the outlook default mail editor to Notepad and problem went off.
Please try changing outlook default mail editor and let me know the results.
