How many records can FTS support?

I've built a FTS, and when 200 records (about 100K/record) it's OK. But when 500 records, after i start population, the MS Search Service died. What's the problem?

mmc.exe error

When I right click on table and go to Desing. I get an mmc.exe application error. Teh instruction at "<hexideciamal number> referenced at "<hexideciaml number>. The memory could not be written. Has anybody come across this? I have re-installed several times but to no avail. -jg
