RE: backup with Arcserve

  • Reply

We also use Arcserve to run the company backups. It will not backup open files, and as you said, you would have to stop SQL in order to back them up, which is not the most sensible thing to do.  Arcserve does have a separate product, an agent that can backup SQL.  I believe that it […]

RE: connection string problem

What is the error?  Are you using OLE/DB or ODBC?  I assume that the userid you signed on with is a valid login for the server as well as having access to the Wordman database.Check out http://www.able-consulting.com/ADO_Conn.htm for samples of connection strings.

RE: How do you duplicate a record in Stored Procedure

Ben,I would go your route using an audit table.  That's what we do where I work.  We store the old and new information together in the same record, what form/page the change was made on, date, by who, etc.I would think if you stored the old and new (revised) records in the same table you will eventually […]

RE: OPENXML Issue

Thanks for the reply. We are moving the direction suggestion already but this change has go through the regular release process and we wanted to understand what is happening with the current implementation until the modification can get to production.Does that mean I cannot trust OPENXML when participating in joins?

I didn't know that you could license SQL Server to a person.  I thought there were only two licensing options.CALPer processorIn my case I deal exclusively with systems accessible via the web so only per processor applies to me.Most people don't give a pair of fetid dingos kidneys about licensing until FAST come knocking at […]
