He then provides hands-on exposure to Concatenate() and ConcatenateX(), in joining two text strings into a single text string, and in returning the concatenation of an expression evaluated for each row in a table, respectively.

It's not a table : run this in the master table Select objectproperty(object_id('sysperfinfo'), 'TableIsFake') It will return 1. This means than when you query that table, Sql server meterializes it so that the query can execute, but this information is never actually kept on the hd like a real table. checks BOLS : objectproperty::TableIsFake

aha! Yes the PK is clustered..and on investigation I don't think it's a good candidate for it. I'll consider the non clustered approach for this key. Also, it was the first of all the index drops, so I've changed my code to drop all others first then lastly, the PK. Thanks for the advice.. I'll […]
