  • Topic

Setting: Win 2K, SQL 2k We've dumped trans logs hourly from the beginning of the year. That causes our MSDB to grow rapidly and we don't need such extensive backup/restore info. How can I delete it from msdb? Bill

Backup to network drive failing.

  • Topic

I am backing up databases to a network directory, but recently my backups have sporadically started failing. The error that I am getting says"Can't open dump device '\\T01a2f1\csdba\mssql\T01CISRH1\msdbLogBackup.DAT', device error or device off line. Please consult the SQL Server error log for more details. (Message 3201). If I run the same backup sometimes later manually […]

Using EnumProcesses method

  • Topic

I am trying to use the EnumProcesses method of the SQLServer object in C++. I have found the documentation fairly useless - both the SQLServer online books and MSDN. Problem restoring a SQL 7 DB onto SQL 2000

  • Topic

I have an automated process which generates Dynamic SQL to restore a database onto a second server (this is done due to having different locations for the logical devices on the second server and a variable filename for the dump). The Database being restored is a SQL 7 Database, loading into SQL 2000 SP1. The […]
