tulcanla, I played around with it a bit and found a HUGE difference when adding a where to the query. Normal selects and counts made no differance. Did you use a condition in your select? If so, why is it so much faster for me? Cheers, Crispin

Kill a long running transaction and while it's rolling back out pull the plug on the server. That's what one of my former clients did. (they didn't have a viable backup either) Big name outfit too. John Zacharkan
