Interesting problem. I think what you want to do is loop through a series of departments and call a DTS package to email the results. At least that's what I'd do. If you want administer sql from the PC, install the client tools on that PC. This will set details in the registry and install the snap-in required.

If we were to take everything they indicate at face value, I don't see how it could work. Copy direction isn't specified. Without specifying this, BCP will just abord with usage. In native format as specified, the copy will start but end with no rows copied. Changing format to character drops an EOF error.Hmm.

You might want to make sure that the disk are on different controllers. and also how many HBA's do you have. We have HBA's with a throughput of 100 mb/S but according to SAN experts, the best throughput is achieved at 50 MB/s.
