Brian, Not to labour the point too much but if the intention of the question was to elicit an answer to 'why can't Enterprise Manager see the local drives' then I reckon the answer was phrased wrong SQL Server CAN see local drives in a cluster EM CANNOT see local drives in a cluster

I increased the default value only in a small self-made tool that stores (large) binary data into one certain db. If filesize gone beyond ~5-6 MB I ran into timeout problems. Normally I had no problems with the default values. Cheers, Frank
