If your source-db is in simple-recovery-mode (yes, some vendors still recommend this for their apps), you can forget log-shipping and the only option left is backup/restore if you want the full db. (put the destination-db in read-only to avoid accidental updates)

Triggers are 'free'. That's why I suggested it. I've never done it, but I assume that you could write a stored procedure that could add the triggers to every table in the db, loging all deletes (or whatever you wanted) to a table, for example.

I use a different method. I use one temporary table with an additional field (Session_ID) This Session ID isgenerated by the application.
