,

Come this August 4th, 2012, the Big Apple will be baking, but not just because of the hot summer day we're expecting!  No, something much more filling will be cookin, with the announcement that SQLSaturday is returning to NYC!

We've been thinking, talking, planning,  and hoping behind the scenes that the City that never sleeps would wake up and bring us another super SQLSaturday!  Well, stop pinching yourself!  IT IS ON!!

It my utmost pleasure to welcome one and all to the upcoming super SQLSaturday sizzling summer spectacular!   Indeed, it's been dry season up in the city of all cities.  Our last SQLSaturday here was a very successful SQLSaturday #59, you can read the wrap-up by clicking on the hyperlink.  That's almost 100 events later, and the magic returns!  We are hoping to repeat this success come August, and look forward to seeing many friends and colleagues of our #sqlfamily, and meeting many more new ones!

The call for Speakers and Sponsors is now open! To our fabulous speakers who are planning on presenting, please have your submissions no later than June 5, 2012.

So, how excited are you?  Well, within 5 minutes of official announcement on twitter, the inbox for the SQLSaturday #158 team was filled to almost 200, if you count DM and direct emails, of high fives, congrats, inquiries, and others interested in speaking sponsoring and attending.  We already have as of DAY1, 64 abstracts submitted for presentations!  Everyone wants to be a part of it - New York, NY πŸ™‚  We fully expect to be filled to C-A-P-A-C-I-T-Y, and an attendance  in excess of 300-350!

We are planning quite an extraordinary lineup of SQL Server learning, networking and fun!  Multiple tracks will be offered, and excited to have many topics and tracks dedicated to SQLAzure, SQL Server 2012, and more!  And don't forget the excellent SWAG and give-aways we will have for all our attendees!

SQLSaturday  #158 is a training event for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server. This event will be held Aug 4 2012 at Microsoft New York Metro Office, 1290 Avenue of the Americas, Sixth Floor, New York, NY 10104. Admittance to this event is free, but we do charge a lunch fee of 10.00 so that we can provide a lunch - not pizza!   Seriously, ten bucks for a day of awesome expert training, networking, and more on a summer day in Manhattan is the best deal in town!  We guarantee a sold out crowd, so please register soon as seating is limited, and let friends and colleages know about the event.

This event is brought to you by the hard work and dedication of Melissa Demsak (aka SQLDiva), the NJ SQL User Group, and her loyal band of steady volunteers! (We will make mention of everyone involved in follow-up posts) .  Oh, and yours truly will be working the sqlsaturday circuit too!  Thank you, of course to Microsoft, who is generously donating our use of their NYC facility, and of course PASS, for their hand on the wheel, of what makes SQLSaturdays possible.  There'll be time to thank everyone - in the meanwhile, get on board, make your travel plans, and get registered AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
