BoulderSQL

Date: Tuesday, October 15th

Main Presentation: OLAP in Your Organization:

Explore how OLAP can fit into your overall information delivery architecture. As business has seen repeated successes in data-based decision making and Big Data is all the buzz, there is momentum behind exposing data to the business in more inventive ways. We’ll discuss strategies for exposing information to internal clients and how BI tools have decreased the one-off report workload for Mike’s team. Then we’ll build a cube from scratch and talk about what you need to learn to make these tools work for you.

Presenter: Mike White

Mike White has been focused on database development and administration since 1992 and is a co-author of the SQL Server 2008 Bible and the SQL Server 2005 Bible. He has concentrated on Microsoft’s Business Intelligence (BI) tools and applications since 2000, and has architected and implemented several warehousing and Analysis Services applications, as well as non-traditional applications of BI tools. After many years in corporate IT and consulting, Mike currently works as a data architect for AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group. He is a strong advocate for the underused BI toolset and Microsoft SQL Server in general.
