PerformancePoint is an important BI Tool in the Microsoft world and it will continue to be Microsoft’s solution for creating interactive, context-driven dashboards with balanced scorecards, key performance indicators, analytic reports, and filters. Fortunately there are some new features and improvements in the version of PerformancePoint included with SharePoint 2013 (download) (docs). More information is forthcoming, but the features we know of include:

EffectiveUserName: Save the IT admin from having to set up Kerberos constrained delegation in order to use per-user authentication

Custom Target Applications from Secure Store: Specify any secure store target application when defining your data source in dashboard designer

BI Center: Enhancements with integrated support for PowerPivot, Power View and Excel Services

Dashboard Designer in the Ribbon: Now you can launch the designer without having to navigate to the old BI Center landing page. The appearance of the PerformancePoint ribbon tab is based on content type.

Server-Side Migration: Ability to migrate, copy and move PPS content between SharePoint sites
