,

Long before it was announced that coming August 4, 2012, SQLSaturday #158 returns to the NYC  (<< see recent announcement, New York was getting pretty lonely for some SQLSaturday learning and fun.  That's when a Senior SQL DBA from the Rochester, NY area, looked to fill the void.  Matt Slocum (blog|twitter), President of the Rochester SQL User's Group, and his SQLSaturday #129 team has put together an amazing event that is sure to please the SQL "Upstaters" as we Big Apple city folk like to call them.  This will be Rochester's FIRST annual SQLSaturday!

Therefore, please join them this Saturday, May 12, 2012.  You can also follow the event and its updates on twitter, using the hashtag #sqlsat129.

Most of the time, folks from all the surrounding upstate areas would have to travel down to NYC, to get some SQLSaturday training, or seek out another state venue altogether. Rochester to NYC is about 340 miles away and a 6 hour drive.  If you can't bring the upstate sql peeps to the SQLSaturday, Matt made sure to bring the SQLSaturday upstate to the City of Rochester!

SQLSaturday #129, will be rockin Rochester, with a day filled with various sql sessions and tracks covering SQL Server Administration, Development and Business Intelligence!  And, you'll find that some of our favorite sqlsaturday speakers (too numerous to mention in this space) will be there!  Please check out their list of speakers and sessions, and you won't be disappointed!

Don't forget to thank the sponsors for the event as well!  I wish you all the best!  Enjoy.
