2008 R2 6 core 12 thread licensing ?

    I have a new server to setup. it has 2 6 core 12 thread cpu's. R2 standard has limit of 16 cores, Will I be able to use multithread with all 24 threads as SQL will see them as 24 CPu's?

    You still only have a total of 12 cores, the other 12 cores are hyperthreads and they should not affect the number used by SQL Server, but I may be wrong so you should probably contact your software vendor or Microsoft. Just remember, they may not give you an accurate answer either.
