Thanks for the reply. We have just found the solution to our problem.
All we needed to change the path variable from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN to C:\Progra~2\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN and it all works.
