A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server

  • Hi All,

     Iam stuck with this error while connecting from remote server to the local server.

    Enovironment

    ============

    SQL Server 2005 SP2

    Win 2003 SP1

    Error

    =============

    while connecting from rempte server I receive the following error message:

    A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The specified network name is no longer available.)

    Solution from my side:

    Tried these stepa but did not resolve :

    1) Updated the sql server 2005 with SP2

    2) Added a DWORD synAttcakProtect in the regitry as this issue has been seen with windows 2003 with SP1.

    3) TCP/IP and names pipe protocol is enabled in both the server

    4) Remote connection is enabled

    5) Login Account is a Domain Admin account

    6) TCP /IP port and SQL Browser is added in the exception list of the firewal in both the server

    7) Can ping and telnet both the server

    8) Added the server name with IP address to the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\host file

    Need your help please.
