Accessing SQL 2005 Express from QA

    Hi all

    I have installed SQL 2005 Express in my test environment. I have installed SQL Server Management Studio to access this server.

    Now I try access this through SQL QA from other machine. But it throws an error "Specified SQL server not found". I have configured the TCP/IP protocol fon port 1433.

    Is it possible to connect to the SQL 2005 Express using SQL QA? Can anyone advice me on this.

    To my knowledge, Query Analyzer for SQL Server 2000 will not connect to a SQL 2005 database.  I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it can't.

    You can connect, you just can't run any queries.  Pretty useless.
