Add an AD group to SQL Server

• :hehe: Good morning. I need to add a new Active Directory group to SQL Server, but I don't see it when I open the new login option. I can see it in Windows Adminstration, though.

Should I add the group to the server first and then to SQL, searching for the new group in the local machine? Please advice :hehe:

• You should be able to see it, from SQL Server itself. When adding a new login, click on browse and search in the whole directory. you should be able to see the new group in there.

HTH :)

-Hope is a heuristic search :smooooth: ~Hemanth
• :hehe:Thank you and please disregard the question. My bad, I had user selected to run the search. As soon as I added groups to the search I was able to find the group and set my security!! :w00t:
