Advise Needed

    Hi all,

    I already have a certification in 'Exam 70-029: Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0'.

    Now, can I proceed writing the sql 2000 admin paper, windows 2000 paper and the elective paper to get my MCDBA ?? Or, if i choose one sql 7 paper, does it mean that the other paper should be ONLY sql 7s and not sql 2000 ??

    Pls clarify my doubt !!!

    I explain about how to break down the requirements for the MCDBA in this article:

    Basically, there is a category for SQL Server Admin. You can either take the SQL 7.0 admin or the SQL 2000 admin exam in order to complete that category. That, the windows 2000 exam, and the elective will give you the MCDBA.

    With respect to your SQL 7.0 Design, you'll hold the MCDBA certification until this exam is retired. This means at some point you'll need to take the SQL 2000 exam (or Yukon, if it is out), but other than that there isn't an issue with mixing SQL 7.0 and SQL 2000 to obtain your MCDBA.
