Always ON

    When we pause the ALWAYS ON to read only replica , can we copy the data and log files on the replica ?

    I have understanding this is not possible , as thread is still present hooked.

    Any suggestions or reference ?

    You'd need to shut down the SQL instance in order to copy the files. SQL keeps the files open while it's running, no matter what activity there is on the DBs.
