Just curious - how many like that new tile look on the home page?

FWIW: I prefer the older images over these tiles.

I think it's pretty ugly and boring.

I agree. I threw up in my mouth when I saw the icon change to tiles today.

Your body seems to have a serious allergic reaction to change. 🙂

I hate it. We went from some rich, classy looking icons to monochromatic junk. I'd really like to see them stop messing with the look and start working on the important stuff that's been missing from this site since the great migration several years ago.

I'll probably miss your session, as at that time I'll be in dinner with family. Or be watching Breaking Bad. 🙂

  • So I just got back from a weekend in Portland, OR where I sat on two panels about editing and small press publishing, took pitches from writers, and made a trip to Voodoo Donuts (YUM) and Powell's City of Books where (I kid you not) I found a book from my childhood that I've spent the past 2 decades searching for.

    Ain't it purty?

Anyway, I have a SQL Spackle article coming out tomorrow that I hope everyone will read (I'm sure there will be dissection required). And other than that, I have a lot of office work to catch up on for missing 4 days of stuff so I could Con and Recover.

So, did I miss the grand DBCC Timewarp singularity event? And is anyone here going to GenCon in Indianapolis in a few weeks?

  • Brandie I was just thinking about you a couple days ago when I saw that Shadowrun Returns has been released. Not sure if you are familiar with the old super nintendo shadowrun release (mid 90s) but this is supposed to be the sequel to that. I haven't yet had a chance to check it out but I loved the SNES version long ago so I figure I will give it a shot.

Glad you found it! I know that book well. : -) Powell's is one of the reasons I want to go to Portland.

I will not be at GenCon, but I will be at Worldcon. Do you happen to be attending this year?

Unfortunately WorldCon is not in my immediate future. Fundage issues.

Oh well, I'd been hoping. It is the most expensive con out there. We go mostly because it is our big trip of the year. We got my fiancé's parents to love SF cons, so we treat is as our X-Mas holiday. MUCH better time of the year for travel.

Next year is in London and I'm really hoping the following year is in Finland. Not a big help on the fundage front though. I just want to go to Finland.

Glad you checked in. Was thinking yesterday that I hadn't seen you post in a few days and was wondering how things are going.
