backup restore x2

    I have an ESRI sql 2008r2 database full of imagery in production. I would like to backup and restore to a different non existent database on the same server, do stuff and backup and restore back to the original database (if the changes work). Is this possible without having to change the original database name? Or is there a better way?

    To restore the same database on the same server without overwriting the existing database you will need to rename the database and the physical file names.

    Thanks. does that mean I have to rename the files to the original when restoring back?
