Hi All,
I have 4 production server box from where we are planning to take the backup and dump it to the tape using tivoli. My question is :
How do I take SQL Server DB backup to Tape using Tivoli?
What is the configuration file?
What parameter need to be configured. ?
Is there any script available to do the same.

We use Tivoli backup at my workplace and we started out doing SQL Server backups using the Tivoli utilities to back up the databases directly (much like you're asking about setting up). We discovered that the Tivoli backups took inordinate amounts of time for small (4-6Gb) databases, and would occasionally fail for odd reasons. What we do now is back up the databases to a disk file and then use Tivoli to backup the disk file. Much faster for both backup and restore operations, and far simpler to implement and manage both in SQL Server and Tivoli.

We have decided to take the SQL Server backup to Tapes using Tivoli instead taking the backup location ( Disk) to Tape which was suggested earlier.
Need help in setting up the path , configutration file and triggerring the backup from Tivoli to tape.
Any good links which details this out will also help.
