Beta Test New Forums

  • For those of you that have a little extra time, we could use some help testing our new forums. qa.sqlservercentral.com/forums . You'll have to log in again to see them. If you have any problems getting back into the old stuff delete your cookie.

The data is from up through a few days ago, so you can try out all the functionality, just randomly post. We'll reload from the live data at some point.

Anything you can find, any comment, I'll take them all!

A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (Postmessage1:rteEditor="<P>please ignore. </...").

Description: Request Validation has detected a potentially dangerous client input value, and processing of the request has been aborted. This value may indicate an attempt to compromise the security of your application, such as a cross-site scripting attack. You can disable request validation by setting validateRequest=false in the Page directive or in the configuration section. However, it is strongly recommended that your application explicitly check all inputs in this case.

  • 1. CON - I have to scroll to the side on every page

    2. PRO - I really like the look

    3. CON??? - I noticed I'm the last poster on the SQL Server Security Skills forum. Kinda cool, but I can't see the thread. I can see the threads for every other forum but not for the one that I am the last poster in. Is that by design? Or a bug that I caught?

    -SQLBill

  • OOPPSS, there ARE other forums in which I can't see any of the threads. Could it be that there aren't any threads since it's beta for now?

    -SQLBill

  • Went to "Active threads", does not show to much... the "Sort by in From" dropdown has each time period twice. Selection of last 12 hours showed me only 1 very very recent post. Other time period selections seem to "hang".

I like the look and info, except for the Topic column width... it's a little wide to my liking, I have to scroll to see the post date-time on 1280x1024 w "medium" text size.

Once you understand the BITs, all the pieces come together

  • No fun! We can't post replies (I get the same error as Frank).

And I so wanted to respond to Andy's "Steve Jones my garage door is broken" thread.

    So here's my reply anyways:

Do you have a remote garage door openner?

    SELECT new_batteries

    FROM store_shelf

    WHERE new_battery_type = old_battery_type
