BIDS data source deployment options

    Hello,

    I have noticed since getting a new PC and a fresh install of BIDS, each time I try to deploy a single report in a project, all the data sources within that project are deployed. Previously it only deployed the data source associated with the particular report.

    Is there a setting somewhere to revert to the previous behavior?

    SSRS 2008 and I'm working on a Win7 Pro PC.

    First of all, make sure that you only deploy your report, and not the whole project.

    Second of all, to be sure, and if it isn't the expected behavior, you should set the 'Overwrite Datasources' property in the project properties to False.

    This way, even if it tries to deploy all data sources, it won't overwrite any existing connections on your portal.

    Personally, when I deploy a report, only the datasources used within the report are deployed, not all...
