Can see *.bak files in Management Studio only if file is "ready for archiving"

    Hi,

    I have a little problem with Management Studio. I am not able to see files in the backup or restore dialog if these files don't have the "file is ready for archiving" flag.

    Is there a configuration option somewhere or what can I do except for setting the archive-flag for every file manually?

    I am also hoping for a reply to this - I found the same when restoring some copied database backup files last week. The Restore still works normally if you enter the name manually. I couldn't figure out why only archive flagged files were visible to browse - it looked like changed behaviour.

    But I was using SQL2K on Win2K, and SQLEntMgr.
