  • Hi Team,

I am planing to find the memory requirement for SQL Server 2008 64 bit box. THis is a new box.

    I have only these information:

1.OS version and edition : win 2008 with Enterprise or STD

2.SQL server 2008 either Enterprise or STD

    3.No.of instance 1

    4.OLTP env

    5. 60% read activity / 40% write activity

    7. No.of users 500 - 1000 / hour

    8. Concurrent users : 100-200

  • No way to answer from that little information.

  • As Gail said, there's no good way to answer that question. But you can start by looking up the minimum required to run SQL Server and add on top of that. I also recommend looking at your current memory usages and adding that to the equation. That will at least give you a baseline of memory.
