Changing Collation

    I want to change the default collation on a SQL 2000 server. I was wondering if it made sense to reapply the service pack after rebuilding master. Also, if anyone has any experience doing this with the Rebuild Master utility. So far, testing with this, it just runs for an hour and doesn't do anything.

    I found the answer to my problem. You have to copy the installation file to a network share or the local drive. If you try this from the CD, it won't work because the files are read-only.
