Computed columns

  • Hi all,

I have a table which has computed columns defined on it.When i use EM to view the table desing or double click it i don't see these columns where as when i run sp_help for this table i can see that the column are exising.

I have SQL2k with sp3 running on this server.

AN dalso if i want to know whats the formula defined for these computed colums how can i get it.

    Thanks,

    kumari

  • Can't speak to the view through EM but, to get the formula I would GUESS that you could script out the table and see the computation associated with that column.

Curious if that works so, let me know. Thanks.

  • You can run the stored procedure sp_mshelpcolumns 'tablename' and in the text column next to the col_iscomputed will appear the formula.
