Connecting two servers which have separate domain in SQL Server 2005

    Hi Guys,

    Is it possible to connect two servers which have different domains in SQL SERVER 2005? 

    I tried to connect it using SQL Server authentication but unfortunately it didn't connect.

    How you are trying to connect? via linked server call?

    Hi Mohammed,

    No, I'm still in the registration process.  I can't register the machine to the server because they are on a separate domain.  Thanks!

    Are the domains trusted. If the are and you still can't connect you might need to use an IP instead of computer name (you can create an alias as well).

    If the domains are not trusted, you're going to have to use sql server authentication.
