Connecting with SQL 2005

    Has anyone else came across this problem or know how to resolve it?

    I am trying to connect to someone else's local database through SQL Server 2005 mangement studio but I keep getting an error says, "SQL Server does not allow remote conections."  I have checked all the remote connection properties and all of them say enabled.....

    Any help or guidance I can get would be greatly appreciated!

    Sounds like you got it.. I was going to say that I do not think "Remote Connections" are enabled by default- part of Microsoft's "Secure by default" mentality these days.
