data file migration..

  • Hi,

As i face one interview question in my call that is If i create one data file in primary server then how it will replicate in Secondary server ?

    How can we troubleshoot it..

I can appreciate if any one give sol....

  • Question doesn't make sense.

Data files don't 'replicate', databases do and only if there's something set up to copy the database to another server.

  • Thanks for your reply .... I meant to say that the servers are configured logshipping and one of the server has introduced one new data file added. So how it will be replicated to secondary server.

    Please let me know...

  • Why don't you test it out and see? That's a very easy thing to try out on a local instance of SQL and you'll learn far more from trying it than you will from someone telling you the answer.
