Steve, I would love to do a write up on it, but alas, it is not my project and I don't have the necessary details to write anything worthwhile. What I do know is that many third party vendors were given the opportunity to build this out and every single one proposed a completely inadequate solution. My manager didn't want something, we'd have to support, built half way. So he spent the majority of two months writing the infrastructure. There are still many challenges to overcome, regarding security mostly. And this may end up being a product our company provides/sells as there seems to be a shortage in the supply of robust "off the shelf" solutions.
