Database suspected

    Hi all SQL expert,

       One of the SQL SERVER 2000 database had been suspected. I removed the suspected icon from the Enterprise Manager and the .MDF and .LDF file still in the machine. I try to attach for the database but I get the bad page ID for the .MDF file. How to solve the bad page ID in the data file? Why the database can be sustected? Thanks for the advance.

    Dear Newbie,

    When there is no enough disk space in the Hard disk, The database will be suspected. U won't loose any data nor the DB is corrupted. No body can access the DB.

    Do the following actions to solve the issue:

    1. Detatch the DB from the server

    2. Delete the Log file or move it to any other Hard disk (To get the free space).

    3. Attach the DB again. Now it will ask u for the new log file creation. say ok. By default SQL server creates a new log file of 512kb size.

     

    Freequently shrink the log file, to solve these issues.
