Datamart dimension historical column ok?

    I am working on my first data mart. It is going to be populated with natural disaster data for one particular disaster, a flood.

    My question is, would it be feasible to include prior year value, and post disaster value within the same record in my DimAffectedProperty table?

    There will never been any edits or editions once the DimAffectedProperty table is loaded so I wasn't sure if it would hinder performance to break out the initial insert into SDC types of records or to just include the historical data in columns within one row.

    I appreciate any feedback, personal experiences, etc. you can give.

    Or.. should I put the values in a fact table and just have the property data in the dimension?

    The property is a dimension of other facts such as FactInspection.

    I have one other question about this table:

    The property could have multiple structures on it, each structure has its own attributes. Would I just snowflake that off the main property dimension?
