In that case, it's even simpler.
SELECT
id
, product
, MIN(start_date) AS StartDate
, NULL AS EndDate
FROM @t
GROUP BY
HAVING COUNT(*) > COUNT(end_date)
But what happened to the DATEDIFF requirement?
