Disable Warnings?

  • I am using a join hint in a query within a stored procedure (INNER LOOP JOIN).  We have an application that executes this stored procedure.  The application is reporting an error because of the warning that is given when using a join hint.  Does anyone know how to disable warnings from returning from a stored procedure execution, since our application is too stupid to know the difference.

The warning I am getting is:

“Warning: The join order has been enforced because a local join hint is used.”

  • Is the hint really necessary?

  • Gee thanks for your oh-so-f*&^ing-helpful post.  Yes it is otherwise I would not have posted the question.  I am not an idiot and do not need chumps like yourself second-guessing me.  But thanks for your input, it was appreciated about as much as I appreciate losers who drive too slow in the fast lane while talking on their cell phones.

  • In that case, contact the creator/vendor of the application and have those errors checked on severity.
