Emailing an SSRS report from SSIS

    Hello All,

    I have this problem which i have no idea on how to solve.

    There is this client who have the entire BIDS studio and want a report to be emailed to them on a regular basis, but do not have report server installed and they do not want that installed.

    So what i wanted some advise on can we create a report in SSRS and email it through SSIS?

    There is a Send Mail Task in SSIS which might be able to help you deliver the SSRS file [.rdl], In the Mail tab,

    browse to the location of the rdl file. I have not tried this and am not sure if it is supported. Also how will your users who receive this report be viewing their SSRS reports.

    Also If you have Reporting Services installed, you can always create subscription for this reports and they would be emailed to your users, you can also create a schedule for your subscription.Example 1st of ever Month or every Wednesday.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I was hoping there would be a way to generate this file in excel and then do the Send mail task.
