Error 22528: [sql-dmo] after power outage

    After a power outage, when I open Enterprise Manager- the SQL Server stops .

    In Enterprise Manger window I get the Error message :--

    "Error 22528: [sql-dmo] this server connection has broken and connot be reconnected"

    Any idea why this is happening and how to correct it ?

    Have you looked at the SQL Server error log ? The Windows System/Application/Security event logs ? They may provide more information. The spectrum of potential problems is just too large after a power loss ...

    Resolved it by installing MDAC 2.8.

    Actually we had reinstalled Win Xp Pro on the laptop and thne it had crashed. Looks like the problem was there right after the install
