error when adding a new field

    I have a production database running as the backend to a ColdFusion application.

    In the past 2 months, when I add any new fields, the application throws this message:

    Error Executing Database Query. [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Value can not be converted to requested type.

    It doesn't matter what data type the field is or what table got the new field. I stop getting the error once I remove the new field. I cannot re-create the error in our development or QA databases.

    Any ideas about what is going on or has anyone else experienced this?
