Export tables to MySQL

  • Hi pals,

What is the best, or easiest way of transfering table structures from SQL Server 2005 to MySQL?

I have both MSSQL and MySQL installed on my machine and I couldn't find in the SSIS any connection handler to MySQL.

I don't have a CASE tool here in my environment, so I really would like to use the SSIS.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Lucas

  • Hi Lucas,

maybe this post will be useful.

I found it using the search keywords "linked server mysql" on this site.

  • Do I have to create a linked server?

Even if I want to use the SSIS I have to do it?

I really thought Microsoft considered this scenario.

  • You don't "have to".

    There are -almost- always alternatives.

Maybe this blog describes an alternative for you.
