I have a Full Backup maintenance plan that runs nightly. It has about 20 databases in the plan. I recently detached and deleted a database. Every since then, the maintenance plan fails because it is looking for the removed database. I edited the plan and the deleted database is no where in the list. Is this a bug? Is there a way to fix this without deleting and recreating the entire plan?

Just open the Maintenance Plan --> Backup Task. Click Ok and Save the Maintenance Plan. This should fix it.

Also, make sure you're on SP3. Various bugs here & there have been fixed (not sure if it woiuld help in this case)
