Help required urgent for DB

  • Hi

    help out me

Accidentaly i delete one .LDF file among my 2 LDF file, and i have 1 month back backup,

now how can get my all DB back upto the DAte

  • Try to use a file recovery tool and pray that nothing is overwritten yet. Otherwise I think, you're pretty much out of luck. May I add, that the use of more than one log file doesn't really make sense?

Actually how can you "accidentally" delete a log? You only can do so when the db is detached or SQL Server is stopped.

    Good luck!

  • If file recovery doesn't do it, call MS. They might get you to a stable state. Also, do a full backup of your db file (the .mdf) right now. That's got the data.

  • This won't be helpful, but there was a cartoon with a "super" DBA who was saying to a colleague "I can fly back in time to recover missing files.  What do you do?"

I'm anal about my backups.  I wouldn't *ever* permanently delete a file before I'd tested the DB to make sure it worked, unless it was a throw-away.

So long, and thanks for all the fish,
