How can I get SQL Server 2008 Standard edition for trail ?

  • Hi Friends,

I want to have SQL Server 2008 standard edition because I have Windows XP OS in my system ( I think the Enterprise version can be installed on only Windows server OS). I tried to download it from Microsoft website but they are only giving Enterprise edition on trail basis, I can also download Express edition. But I want the Standard edition. Can anyone suggest me how to get it, if Microsoft is providing trail download. Please provide me link .

    Thanks and Regards,

    Satish

  • I had enterprise edition installed on WinXP, so you could use that one.

Also, is this for Dev purposes? You may want to shell out a few bucks for Dev edition. That way you could play with the enterprise features and not worry about an expiring trial.

  • The evaluation edition (which is enterprise) can be installed on any OS.
