There is this tool, DumpSQLSec, by C Miller. Featured here long time ago. Very good tool. I created a MS Access version just to get to know SQLDMO. Could not run VB 6 at the time.
The thing is, our company is using a mix of Linux and Windows servers and pretty soon, my version, or any other for Windows, will not help on my everyday DBA tasks.
What I'd like is to be able to use SQLDMO from Linux. What should I do? I want to develop a web based front end. Could be in PHP, Java, or C# (mono). But, SQLDMO is a DLL.
Are there any libraries for MS SQL Server for administration from Linux/Apache?
What are my options? Any suggestions?
